Lopez and the San Juan Islands

Smile!

A beautitful secluded cove

The San Juan Islands are located sixty miles to the northwest of Seattle, Washington, USA. The Washington State Ferry is the most popular way to get to the islands with Lopez Island being the first stop after a scenic 45-minute ride. The ferry originates in Anacortes, An hour and a half north of Seattle. During peak summer months, expect delays if you are bringing your automobile with you.

Another way to get here is by air, with a spectacular overflight of the Puget Sound. Daily air service is available through West Isle Air from Boing Field in Seattle, Anacortes and Bellingham. Float plane service is available through Kenmore Air from downtown Seattle on Lake Union to our dock on Fisherman Bay.

Lopez is as far as you need to go when traveling to the San Juan Islands. It is the ideal location to base your island adventures. You can find all of "life's essentials" including a bank, pharmacy, post office, farmers' market, complete grocery store and a bakery. Shop for a variety of superior-quality local products such as jam, herb vinegar, honey, sauces, ice cream and wines produced by small cottage industries, as well as many hand-made arts and crafts. All this and more is located in Lopez Village, within walking distance of Lopez Island Sea Kayak world headquarters on Fisherman Bay. A classic pier

Tranquil waters

Next to our location on Fisherman Bay, you will also find the legendary Lopez Bicycle Works, a full-service bike shop. Also the Islander Lopez vacation resort with bar restaurant and sundeck.

If camping is your plan, Lopez has two fine public campgrounds at Odlin County Park and Spencer Spit. Kayak camping opens up dozens of wonderful locations throughout the islands.

Many vacationers with big plans never leave Lopez Island. Come visit and you will know why.
